Due to the continued high temperatures in many of our buildings, we will be on a two hour early dismissal tomorrow, Wednesday August 29th.  With extended consecutive days of high heat, some of our buildings are above 90 degrees without being able to cool off at night. Each student will end their school day exactly two hours earlier tomorrow, meaning they will arrive home on the bus two hours earlier as well.  Please make sure you make appropriate plans to have someone at home for students at the end of the day. Even though the high school has air conditioning, because they share the same bus schedule as the junior high, they will dismiss early as well. Students riding the bus back from the CTC need to have plans to be picked up at the high school at 3:00 P.M.  P.M preschool will be cancelled for tomorrow.

Every student will still have lunch prior to being sent home.  Additionally, all Junior High practices are cancelled. The JH football games will be moved later in the day to 6:00, weather permitting.  All high school practices must be indoors or may practice outside after 6:00 p.m, weather permitting.

This decision is not being made for the weather conditions of the day, but rather the cumulative high heat and humidity of the past few days.  With the upcoming cold front, Superintendent Ben Richards is confident that we can return to a normal schedule on Thursday.

The above information was sent out via a community call system used by our district.  The caller ID number may show as (937) 813-2910. We suggest saving this number in your contacts. Not all student contact numbers have been updated in our school buildings.  If you did not receive this call, please know that the building secretaries are working diligently in getting our students information updated for the new school year.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
